TGI - Diving History ....
TGI Diving is a multinational company with 10 dive centers based on resorts in the most beautiful seas of the World: Maldives, Red Sea, Caribbean and Mediterranean... The Tropical Gangsters Incorporated or TGI as you now know it , was the name when we started the company 25 years ago in the Maldives. Three young guys willing to live the adventure and the fascination of the Indian Ocean, with a BAUER Diesel compressor and some tanks on a almost desert island, that still leaves people breathless for its beauty on arrival. Our many years of experience through the evolution of the diving industry show our philosophy, and highlight our performance. Each of our PADI 5 Star Centers and IDC Centers employs highly qualified multi-lingual instructors, teaching courses from beginners up to instructor. We only use top of the line Mares Equipment and we completely refurbish our centers every 2 years. Compressors are checked and maintained by our professional staff and overhauled every year directly by Bauer technicians. We always pay special attention for the boats we use for each destination. Every sea has different needs therefore different boats. We work hard to make your diving holiday an unforgettable experience, sharing with you the beauty of the underwater world and providing you with the service and safety you expect. The diving Kit sales facility comes after so many years of experience in the field. We tested personally 100's of jackets, regulators, fins, wet suits and accessories as well, we now personally check and order for you the best pieces available on the market and we deliver it at your door step at the most competitive price all over the world!
The Carribean yet to be discovered: Roatan Away from the usual routes to the Carribean, there is a completely untouched sea, with virgin reefs populated by a myriad of species of aquatic creatures.
The island has a unique warm and friendly atmosphere, full of the wonderful wild colors of the lush vegetation of the Carribean. The barrier reef of Diving Roatan is one of the most interesting in the whole of the Carribean and forms part of the second largest barrier reef in the world.
There are many opportunities to dive with dolphins in their natural habitat and for snorkelers this really is a unique place with a chance to see some of the most varied marine life in the world. Flights are from all over Europe via Miami all year round. Located about 65 kilometers off the Northern Coast of Honduras, the Bay Islands group consists of 3 main Islands (Roatán, Guanaja, and Utila), 3 smaller islands (Barbareta, Morat, and Helene), and 65 smaller cays. Between these islands and the mainland are the Cayos Cocinos (Hog Islands).The friendly, English-speaking population offers a unique blend of African, Spanish, Paya Indian, and British cultures.
British and Spanish settlers invaded the Paya as their respective countries fought over possession of Roatan in the 16th century. Soon after, pirates numbering nearly 5,000, including Henry Morgan and associates, claimed Roatan as their stronghold. During the height of the slave trade, Roatan became a dumping ground for rebellious slaves that the British could no longer control. These marooned slaves, now called Maroons or Garifuna, form a present day ethnic group near the town of Punta Gorda.
While this secret Eden's unique location offers fabulous accommodations and authentic Caribbean charm in a seemingly “off the beaten path” locale, transportation is easily accessible, and accommodations are downright cheap. Both ferries and flights arrive daily in Coxen Hole from La Ceiba, Honduras.
However, for those not wishing to depart from the mainland, International Airlines offers jet services from Miami, Houston, and New Orleans and via most mayor U.S City Airport's .
TGI Henry Morgan Diving Center A PADI 5 Star Center which opened in 1999 and offers courses from FREE Discover Scuba for everyone in the village through to PADI Instructor and Beyond as well as wide variety of specailty courses.
The instructors speak Italian, English, French and German. We organise Three diving excursions a day at 9.00 , 11.00 and 14.30. There two regular night dives .
The diving program includes diving in the open water with Shark encounters at the Cara-Cara Point, and you can even take the PADI Shark Diver Specialty courses.
The diving excursions to the marvellous Cayos islands (small coral islands) situated South of Roatan.

The choice and typology of dives are vast, from the steep walls to mysterious canyons to descend from one of the most wonderful drop off points in all the Caribbean: a shallow, far away from the coast, where a huge family of grey reef sharks, the “Carcharinus Perezi”, patrol. A real meeting face to face with the king of all the seas.
With the quality guarentee that comes with being a PADI 5 star Training Facility, TGI Roatan is able to grant internationally valid certifications from the first levels ofPADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver up to the professional level of Instructor, with a wide range of PADI Instructor specialities in between, for example the international speciality “PADI TGI Shark Diver Speciality”, will teach you more about these mysterious and misunderstood living machines.
High quality Mares equipment and a big swimming pool close to the Diving Centre, where you can follow the courses with the highest security and commodity, are at your disposal.
For the non divers, there are also many opportunities, excursions organised by TGI- Roatan include snorkeling on the reef with a supervisor, tours by boat along the most recommended Roatan bays, and, of course, you won't want to miss a face to face meeting with a bottlenose dolphin in the quiet lagoon waters in front of a deserted island, where these fascinating creatures freely interact with humans.
West Bay: Henry Morgan Resort
At the very end of the west side of the long narrow stretch of Rotan Island, at the head of the of the archipelago, there is the West Bay, a stunning expanse of sand almost as white as snow surrounded by the contrasting emerald green of the palm trees that sway gently in the evening breeze on one side and the calm turquoise water gently lapping at the beach on the other. Set in the midst of this idyllic scene is the Henry Morgan Resort.
