GO PRO - MSDT Prep and Instructor Specialties

From the start of your Training we'll help you with your Resume and Global employment Assistance , a one to one chat will give me an idea on your future plans, expectations and Course requirements.
So whilst you're in the neighbourhood why not seriously think about undertaking your MSDT Prep Training with your Course Director ?
The MSDT prep course or Master Scuba Diver Trainer Preparation , involves learning how to teach each course and an orientation on standards and paperwork on a minimum of 5 Instructor Specialties or up to 15 depending on your budget . By attending these MSDT Prep -Specialty Instructor Courses with your Course Director you will be able to teach them straight away after certification and not wait to get 25 certifications under your belt plus the application prices are more cost effective. But you'll have a higher level of Training for your C.V or resume and most of all future Employment.

During each Individual Specialties Training you'll be taught  how to Teach each Course ,including  required performance requirements from your Students  , Paperwork , Referral procedures , required Equipment and Depth , Ratios etc.  Also you will have to present a Classroom presentation for each Specialty to meet the requirement for Instructor Level certification.
You will have to meet the same performance requirements of your Student Diver's and most cases in less Dives than your students such as  the Deep diver Specialty for the student has 4 Dives to save time the Instructor Level certification has just 2 Dives to complete the same performance requirement's.

Please note before you can apply for your Equipment Specialist Specialty Instructor rating you will have to complete a Manufacturers Workshop like our Mares Lab Basic Level Technicians Course  and forward a copy of the Certificate of attendance with your application .
TGI -Diving is the only Facility to Offer  the Mares Lab Scuba Technicians Training Courses from the Basic Level up to and Including the Advanced Level . These Course are Subject to Availibility only . Contact Us for more details . Price's Start at around $100 for the 1 Day - Introduction Course.
The Mares Lab Technician Course is designed to enhance your ability to service and repair the Mares Brand of Equipment Specific to the Models They sell including Regulator's and BCD's etc.

IDC Staff Instructor :

Next for those with the Master Scuba Diver Trainer Rating and for those with my Job in mind then the IDC Staff Instructor will be the next step , I prefer to undertake the IDC Staff Instructor 3-4 Days prior to the start of an IDC , it gives you a better orientation to the IDC process and Evaluation Process this makes the course way more cost effective . For those already a IDC Staff Instructor then why not Audit an IDC and gain credit towards your Master Instructor level or even Course Director application .

Update you DIVE THEORY KNOWLEDGE Prior to your IDC Staff Instructor Training with the PADI On-line Dive Theory link

The IDC staff Instructor Course

is conducted 3-4 days prior to the start of the IDC and involves giving Presentations and Evaluating Candidates  on their presentations . Skills overview .After the Course you will be able to teach the Assistant Instructor Course and Audit further IDC's to go towards higher level Instructor Rating. You'll also present a number of Presentations and be evaluated on them  , and also take the Theory and Standards Exam's again during the IDC process .You'll need the Evaluation and Skill Slates and a Course Director Manual .
Required Materials
• All 2010 materials required of IDC Staff Instructor candidates
(see New 2010 Materials list)
PADI E-rdp-ML and Rdp Table
PADI's Guide to Teaching
• PADI 2010 Course Director Manual
• Knowledge Development Presentation Evaluation Form
• Confined Water Presentation Evaluation slate
• Open Water Presentation Evaluation slate

These Presentations can be spread over addition days prior to the start of an IDC .
Following success at the IDC Staff Instructor Training prior to the IDC , you'll now move onto Audit a Complete IDC with A.I & O.W.S.I within that specific IDC

We prefer No more than 2 IDC Staff Candidates per IDC with Audit this helps with a better Evaluation Environment

Why Choose Us ?

Why should I take my IDC with you ?
I've looked at the New 2010 Curriculum in detail and I've added more Workshops , more Presentations and additional Skills to Optimise Candiate time , Optimise maximum learning and Optimise their future employment possibilties . Hence my New e-IDC . Quite simply I believe I offer I very very Comprehnsive IDC and IDC related course . I'm a qualified Hyperbaric Dive Medic , so I've introduced a EFR Instructor Course with a Hyperbaric Overview to help Candidates fully understand what's involved with Chamber Recompression of a DCI Patient . "Remember to take that wrist Computer off if you every go in the Chamber ?? " I love what I do as a Course Director . I always enjoy every IDC it's alot of hard work but well worth the effort  .
I offer my Candidates the VERY Best Hassle Free IDC learning Environment , ALL Inclusive A/C Accommodation with ALL Meals and drinks and LOCAL BEER - Yes we buy the BEER Everynight which means you have someone cook for you,no Washing dishes,no Grocery Shopping and NO Bloody Hassle !  The best thing to do is come along during an IDC and see for yourself .
I have 10 FULL Years as a Dive Professional and PADI Member , I've learnt a great deal working in several Dive Shops and Resorts and have many years experience and I like to pass on those experiences to my Candidates .
I've reached to Top of my Profession , and I'm very happy and very proud to have got here , coupled together with PADI and the easy access they give you to become a Pro . Life's good !

What is your IDC philosophy ?
Simple - " Give'm Hell".....lol . No joking aside I take a personal interest in my Candidates . I especially listen to the Candidates on the first day of the IDC during the Orieintation in detail , I want to know why they are doing the IDC . I listen for their future plans and where they want to go and do . It's this listening that motivates me , I want them to achieve their Goals and future plans they have . I'm not looking for perfect straight of the bat , I prefer to have to work for my money , it's the guiding and coaching of my Candidates I enjoy most . I always make it Fun , humour always breaks the ice and let's down the stress barrier . We all know the IDC is stressfull - Big Investment etc . I don't orientate my IDC's around the I.E , a very comprehensive IDC will take care of the I.E .I prefer to concentrate on the "Real World " of Teaching Scuba,I want them all to be ready for that Very First O/W Course as an Instructor after the I.E .
I try and keep in touch with ALL that I have the good furtune to teach , we all have a short shelf life. We are Born then we Die it's a known fact , and it's the bit in the middle that we all have to fill in . Make the most of it ,enjoy it to the full  - remember you can't take it with you
