Our IDC is conducted over 10 days with a extra day for the EFR Instructor Course with the New Hyperbaric Overview .
With a FREE 2 day IDC Prep course prior to the start of your IDC Program ( upon request) .

IDC Prep : this FREE upon request two day orientation includes meeting and working with our resident Course Director . This prep course includes an overview of your , DM -Dive Knowledge Exams " Sorry " , Skills , Rescue assessment and general Dive skills during a fun dive .
IDC - The IDC is short for Instructor Development Course includes a two part format firstly the Assistant Instructor Course ( 3 to 4 days) The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You'll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional, but you'll also start learning the PADI System of diver education. if you are already an A.I then you only need to complete the following " OWSI " Open Water Scuba Instructor Course ( 6 to 7 days). To Attend the IDC , you'll need to meet the following requirements
Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or above and /orhold a leadership level certification with another recreational diver Or a instructor member in good standing .
Be at least 18 years old.
And 2 Passport Size Photos of yourself.
Original Dive Certifications or Copies/details of all previous Recreational Training certifications.
Submit a Medical Statement for a diving medical examination conducted within the past 12 months.
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months and have completed and logged at least 60 open water scuba dives and have documentation of experience in deep, night and navigation diving. 60 Dives to start or 100 logged Dives to be certified as a OWSI .
Submit proof of CPR and first aid training within the last 24 months.
Submit documentation of any qualifying certification for entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership-level issued by another recreational diver training organization.
If not a PADI Divemaster, successfully complete the PADI Divemaster course diver rescue skills assessment.
Must also be certified as EFR Instructor Prior to certification as a PADI OWSI .
For the IDC Candidates , we'll collect you from your arrival point and take you to the Resort Location . Then if you have not already started you'll need to work on your IDC Knowledge reviews etc with your IDC Crewpack MATERIALS underarm . Hopefully you would have brought with you a good work ethic and most of all a sense of humour ?
The first couple of days includes a Free "upon request" IDC Preparation course which includes Theory , Skills , Lift bag use , Knots and etc or Efr Refresher if necessary . Then we'll move into the Emergency First Response Instructor course a Full day course depending on the class size, you'll learn how to teach the course plus teach to Demonstration quality Skills for both Adult , Child and Infant.
Then next day we move into the 9 day IDC with the IDC Orientation , skill circuit etc then it's approximately 8 more days of Fun and hard work , you'll make mistakes " So what " it's all about learning and being coached . Some of you will score a 1 some a 5 "Great" you'll learn from each presentation and each other . The Score of 1 is where your sense of humour comes in .
I take a personal interest in all my IDC Candidates , making sure your on the right track with your Skills , Presentations . I want to develop you for a Dive Career not just get you through the I.E . I'll extend my IDC a few days if required to develop a more relaxed experience with the ( FREE - IDC Prep ) course a more positive stress free environment. I'll make sure you absorb the concepts and information and I encourage Questions and note taking , I'll even include the Notebook and pen . We'll learn in the Largest 2 meter Pool on Roatan and also move into Confined Open Water environment all of two minutes walk to the beach from the Dive Shop this will enhance your abilities for dealing with both environments and using surface markers and learning about positioning students around the Surface marker to keep boat traffic away as you may not always be teaching in a Pool environment .
Our class sizes are kept to a maximum of 4-6 Candidates . This enhances the learning experience and you'll work with your fellow Candidates all the time helping each other as a team effort .Like all things in life preparation is the key to success, as a Divemaster you've learnt the standard Dive Theory and have the same level of Theory as an Instructor prior to the IDC , it is not the job of the Course Director to teach you what you should already know but we will remediate as necessary to fine tune your knowledge . So review your Knowledge Workbook and Divemaster Exams , Tables & E-rdp-ML's etc .
During the IDC you'll learn how to present a number of different Teaching Presentation including Knowledge Development in the Classroom, Confined Water in the Pool or Beach area and Open water on one of the local dive sites .The presentation will be from any of the PADI Outlined Standard Courses , mainly the O/W Diver and Rescue Diver and Adventure Dives . This will be guided by fully understanding the PADI Instructor Manual Standards and General Procedures and paper work , course record files and Pic - certification procedures.You'll practice your Rescue Skills and complete a DSD Workshop as well as practice Knot's and Lift Bag use Also we will challenge your dive theory and PADI standards knowledge with a series of exams.You'll learn in more depth about problem anticipation /solving and response with students , how to brief skills , de-brief and counsel your future students as PADI Instructor .
After the IDC is complete and you've met all the performance requirement your Course Director will accept you for registration for the I.E or Instructor Exam for short .
A two day Examination is by one of PADI's Instructor Examiner .
Here you will be assigned a number of presentations which you have practised many times during the IDC .
So really the I. E stands for is " It's Easy ".
By undertaking you MSDT Prep with your Course Director this means you can teach these Specialties without waiting until you have completed 25 PADI certifications.

The Emergency First Response Instructor course provides qualified individuals with the additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses. The course builds on the instructor candidate's skills as primary and secondary care providers and focuses on developing their instructional abilities.
Through independent study, which involves covering the 4 knowledge Reviews in the Front of the EFR Instructor manual in addition to reading the Student Level Manuals in conjunction with the EFR Instructor Manual?

During the classroom sessions your EFR Instructor Trainer will present 8 - Power point type Presentation covering aspects of the EFR Course and How to Teach the Course etc and practice teaching assignments, instructor candidates learn to conduct the Emergency First Response programs. Individuals who are current CPR/first aid instructors with another qualifying organization may choose to earn the Emergency First Response Instructor rating by completing a
Prescribed program based on portions of the Emergency First Response Instructor Course or the Emergency First Response Instructor Crossover Program. The program gives credit for their teaching experience and focuses on familiarizing them with the Emergency First Response program philosophy and structure.
EFR - Instructor - Emergency First Response Instructor Training gives you the tools you need to perform and Teach CPR and First Aid.
Whether you market a diver or a non-diver. Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle potentially life-threatening situations.
You'll learn how to demonstrate to Instructor Level ALL the EFR Student Level Skills including Positive Coaching Techniques and the structure of a Teaching Presentation - Introduction - Body and Summary.
Cover Skills such as Primary Assessment, Barrier Use, CPR, Illness assessment etc.
